1ST ANNUAL SANTA BARBARA PEOPLES MARCH FOR ECONOMIC JUSTICE

Revisit a historic day in Santa Barbara history with the film
"1st Annual Santa Barbara Peoples March for Economic Justice" featuring
Julia Butterfly Hill produced by Stu Shulman for Golden Eagle Video.

Read what Julia Butterfly Hill had to say about the film!!

"Thanks again for sending along the "People's March for Economic Justice" DVD.
What a powerful and inspiring event!

Julia and I had a chance to review it today. We like the way you captured
the energy of the march and helped put the lives of the farmworkers into
such vivid context. Their story, and the narrative covering the plight of
workers generally, was nicely interwoven with the speakers' presentations.

We'll be sure to let people know about it who are looking for great videos
on grassroots activism and the connections between environmental
and social/economic issues.

Keep up the great work -- and all the best to you and yours!
Toward peace and ecological community."

- Julia, Aaron and the staff of Circle of Life

Very Inspiring...
"What I Loved most was to see so many Young People caring about
Economic Justice. It reminded me of the 1960's and 1970's.
Julia Butterfly Hill was inspiring as were all the speakers. I had never
seen her in person before.
Some of the filming was a bit jerky, but that added to the authenticity.
I liked the working in of the eagle plus other aspects of the film
like the workers in the field.
You should be proud of your good work!
"

Anne Bagley - Ann Arbor MI

"The film captures the passionate energy of the Santa Barbara community
standing up for their constitutional rights with rousing chants,
colorful banners and colorfully dressed protestorsgiving the film a 60's vibe."

The film, which was partially financed by a grant from the Fund for Santa Barbara, documents a historic day in Santa Barbara's protest history with an unprecedented, jaw dropping March down the middle of State Street on what would otherwise have been a quiet Saturday afternoon of shopping and lattes culminating in a rousing rally in the courthouse sunken gardens of Santa Barbara. Impassioned speeches from local poverty stricken families,Homeless activists, the local ACLU plus famed Earth activist
Julia Butterfly Hill.
